Unfortunately, we are unable to include you in this contest. We want to make this fair to everyone and that means giving everyone the same amount of time to demonstrate their progress.

If you decide to extend your membership so that you're still an active member by the end of December 2021, yes you may participate. If you decide to register, and for some reason cannot continue, you will lose your ability to qualify for the guitar.

No problem. Just let us know via the Customer Support form and we'll remove your name from the participant's list.  We still would reserve the right to use your previous entries for marketing purposes.

This video will be slightly different from the other videos you'd be sending because it lays the foundation for your future videos.

For this reason, we ask that you take your time and prepare a strong video - 3 minutes maximum please. In this video share:

• Your full name, where you're from, how long (if at all) you've been playing guitar.
• What your overall goals are when it pertains to guitar.
• Why you joined Kerry's Kamp.
• What's been your overall experience since becoming a Kamper.
• What is it most you love about my teaching style.
• What you expect to gain by being a member of Kerry's Kamp.
• What you want others and me to learn from your guitar journey.
• Play something that helps me understand where you are today (no more than 1 minute). Note: I'm not looking for you to focus on a perfect performance. I need to understand where you are at the time of participating in the contest.

The purpose of these videos is to let me know how the lessons are helping you and for me to see your progress from month to month. Each month (after the 1st video) include :

• Your full name
• Which lessons since the previous months you've been  studying to help you.
• Any "light bulb" moments you've had.
• Any other comments you'd like to make
• Play (30 seconds minimum) so that I can see and hear your progress. (IMPORTANT).

** I'm sending a monthly email to all participants with additional information. You definitely want to refer to the email and review as well. **

The only video my team and I will allow you to resubmit is the first one - with one condition. The condition is that Support would contact you and ask you to redo the video.

I understand this is new to some and that you may not fully understand what I'm looking for. The first video lays the groundwork for the future videos you create, which is why I ask that you include a bit more in the very first video. 

One of the purposes of the videos is to use them, where appropriate, to help grow Kerry's Kamp. I want others to see and hear how the Kamp has helped you. If you are not able to consent, I ask that you not participate in the contest. 

Video quality is one of the criteria for choosing a winner. My team and I are not expecting professional quality videos, but there are some basic things you can do. 

• Wait 3 - 5 seconds before you speak. When you finish the video, wait 3 -  seconds before ending the video recording.
• Hold the device (if using a tablet or cell) horizontally.
• Use a microphone & your cellphone/tablet.  Lighting is important too. Don't record with a light behind you.  It makes the video look poor. Use a stand for your phone / tablet.

• When you speak, look at the camera lens. Smile :) .

I want to be 100% fair to all participants.  I have a 3 judges who will provide a numeric score for each category.  

• Your progress since the previous month. (1 - 10) 
• Following the specific instructions of what to include in the video. (1 - 10)
• The quality of your video, including audio. (1 - 10)

50% of your overall score is based on your Progress from the previous month.

15% of your overall score is based on following the instructions of what to include in your video.

35% of your overall score is based on the quality of your video. e.g. Clear image, good sound, clean background. 

Absolutely YES! The winner isn't based on how well you play. The winner is selected based on the PROGRESS you've made by applying the principles I teach within Kerry's Kamp.  You have just as much a shot as winning as someone who considers him/herself at an advanced or professional level.

We'd need your video no later than the last day of the month, 11:59 pm (PST). If you miss the deadline,  you're still able to submit. However, it will impact your score.

It may feel like a lot when you get started, but you'll get the hang of it. Remember, I'm giving away a high end guitar. We have a very large community and the reason why I've outlined specific instructions is to make the selection process FAIR to every Kamper! Just like become a better guitarist, you have to put in the work. And remember, one of the principles I teach in the Kamp is to record yourself regularly so you can track your progress. :) 

You will not know the scores.  We encourage you to focus on telling your story, especially in your first video.  Each month, we’re looking to understand how specific lessons are helping you grow. Your playing in the videos should validate your growth.  Again the goal is to encourage you to do the work to be better.

No feedback.  For two reasons:

A- If we do this for one, we’d have to do this for everyone.  

B- The goal is for you to grow.  If you need feedback, similar to what we always do, no problem. But we aren’t giving feedback for the purposes of the giveaway.  We are sending monthly emails to ALL participants. We will give GENERAL feedback, but nothing specific. 

1 PRS Guitar winner . We want to be flexible and see how things progress. Therefore, we may offer additional prizes.  It’s not guaranteed however.
